FAQs

    • Q: How are ratchet straps rated for my cargo-securing project?
    • A: Ratchet straps are rated based on working load limits and break strength.

    • WORKING LOAD LIMIT: The maximum cargo weight a tie-down strap can safely handle and still accommodate unexpected forces caused by speed, road conditions or emergencies.

    • BREAK STRENGTH: The overall load-bearing strength of the assembly before equipment failure.

    • Q: How do I choose a ratchet strap?
    • A: Straps should be chosen according to their safe working load limit. The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the straps being used. (For example, if you are using straps with a working load limit of 500 lbs. each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs., you will need at least 2 straps to safely secure the load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.)
